Mackenzie Wells, DVM

Dr. Mackenzie Wells is a Washington County native who is absolutely thrilled at the opportunity to practice so close to home. Dr. Wells was introduced to veterinary medicine by her father, who is also a veterinarian (now retired) in Nashville, IL. She spent 7 years in Champaign obtaining her undergraduate and doctorate degrees from the University of Illinois, then spent 2 years in the Metro-East as a general practice and emergency veterinarian. After 9 years away, she is looking forward to serving the community she grew up in.

While she loves dogs and cats, non-traditional species are Dr. Wells's special interest. She is comfortable with bird, reptile, and small mammal medicine, though birds of prey and reptiles are her absolute favorite patients. In her free time, Dr. Wells enjoys music, time outdoors, and volunteering with Treehouse Wildlife Center in Dow, Illinois.
